Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY
publicsafety.syr.edu - Marlene Hall, Chief of Public Safety at Syracuse University, is using College Crime Watch to unite powerful student groups to address the crime prevention needs on and off of campus. This task force includes students in multicultural affairs clubs, resident advisors, students running escort services, students employed by the University, student government representatives, fraternity and sorority members, and graduate students. One of the Syracuse components, hate crime prevention, needs this diverse core group to influence campus-wide attention towards solutions. • University of Washington in Seattle, WA
www.washington.edu - Shannon Nesbeitt is implementing College Crime Watch as a student club. Ms. Nesbeitt is a Youth Crime Watch trainer and a student at the University of Washington who hopes, with her fellow students and community contacts, to serve her campus by coordinating visibility campaigns and learning opportunities in self-defense, drugs and alcohol education, crime reporting and lifesaving skills.
  • Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA
www.scad.edu - Director of Campus Safety, Eugene Friedman, is linking College Crime Watch components to many of his innovative crime prevention efforts. One of these unique programs is S.M.A.R.T. (SCAD Men Against Rape Together), whose purpose is to raise and focus awareness among men on campus about the definition, impact, and consequences of sexual assault and how to prevent it.
